Milpitas City Council next Tue is scheduled to have a 2nd reading and adoption of an ordinance that will require all businesses in town to pay a $15 minimum wage by 2019.

The council voted 4-0 on Feb. seven with Councilman Garry Barbadillo leaving the meeting early due to a family emergency, to strike exemptions recommended by city staff for small businesses with 25 or fewer employees and for labor unions, and instead require all businesses in Milpitas to implement a $15 minimum wage increase in 2 years.
